Happy 2020!
Hi I’m Jeff Daniels. I am the founder and owner of Green Wing Services, Inc. Some of you probably know me better as your “bug guy”. Not many people would enjoy being known as the “bug guy” but I’m a fan. I like it because it reminds me of where I started and how far I’ve come since starting my lawn and pest control company. (See feature picture. Let’s just say I’ve come a long way.)
Learning from the best
Prior to starting Green Wing in 2011, I knew I had to learn from others in the lawn and pest control business. So, I did. I worked for another company for 7 years absorbing all the ins and outs of lawn care and pest control. I put in a lot of hours, studied hard, and learned what worked and didn’t work about the business.
Finally, after saving enough money to purchase my first service truck (see below!) and completing all the certification exams, I decided it was time to go out on my own.
Just me, myself, and I
Those first couple of years it was just me, me, and I going door to door offering my services. I remember someone would call my cell to ask about an inspection, and I would always say, “Yes, I’ll send my guys out there as soon as possible.” The truth was, I didn’t have any other guys to send out. It was just me. I was sending myself out. It was a lot of work but I was proud of what I was creating.
I knew that I was providing the best possible, high-quality service for my customers. If they weren’t happy, I would keep coming back until they were. That’s how I began to create a loyal customer base. It didn’t take long before my business grew, and I began hiring a team.
It’s humbling to see where we’ve come since 2011
Today we have nine employees, and we are serving more than 2,000 homes and businesses in the Brevard and Melbourne area. I can’t express how proud I am of our team. As we continue to grow, I make a point to reflect on our business and how we can better serve our neighbors. I don’t want to tell you our 2020 plans, I want to show you through our actions supporting the community through service, supporting our employees beyond just a paycheck and benefits, and supporting you in more ways than just lawn and pest control service.
